Modern Indian Sugar is Vegan. No any factory using bone char as a refining agent.
Well, bone char is a charcoal made by burning of animal's bones in the form of tablets which is never dissolves in water. So your old sugar was still plant based. We just don't want to use any animal product in anyway because their demand will cause death of more animals.
USDA already banned it in USA. Also Indian companies claimed that they stopped using bone char in filtration of sugar, years ago. Now a days no any sugar company using this shit anymore. Links are in comment. Don't be fooled by rumours and the old unhygienic sugar making by bone char Videos on the internet and youtube.
